Tile with dog
Fine early medieval floor tile in excellent condition. Slip decorated with a dog jumping in front of a branch. For a tile this age it is in very good condition, some tiny chips to sides, a scratch to the glaze and some wear to glaze of top left corner and to the slip decorartion. Tiles with same decoration were found in the remains of Abbaye Notre-Dame de la Chapelle, Les Attaques, Pas-de-Calais, france. This abbeye was founded in 1090! Some tiles were found during excavations works in the 19th century as well as in 1984.
